Music Player Capabilities<\/span><\/h2>\n

With ScanScore\u2019s music player you can upload, and play PDF sheet music.\u00a0 Once it\u2019s inside the music program, you can even edit it too! ScanScore will capture and playback the full range of the score with a piano midi sound. It\u2019s so easy, that playing your PDFs is near-instantaneous once you get used to the process!<\/span><\/p>\n

In order to import your music documents into the PDF music player, you\u2019ll first need to purchase our software.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Choose your Software<\/span><\/h3>\n

ScanScore offers three options; Melody, Ensemble, and Professional. It\u2019s important to do your research before purchasing, that way the software can serve you best.\u00a0 If you want to play one-line melodies in the music player, then ScanScore Melody is probably the best fit for you.\u00a0 However, if you are wanting to import and playback music PDFs that have multiple staves, then you should look into our Ensemble and Professional options.\u00a0 Ensemble can scan and playback 4 staves. ScanScore Professional can handle up to 32 vertical staves!<\/span><\/p>\n

How to Import and Play PDF Sheet Music From IMSLP<\/span><\/h2>\n

Today, we are mixing up the tutorial! I am going to show you how to download and import a PDF from IMSLP and play it in ScanScore\u2019s PDF Music Player.\u00a0 Our sample piece is The Blue Danube Waltz by Strauss. Let\u2019s look into how to download it for free!<\/span><\/p>\n

IMSLP is a free internet resource.\u00a0 Simply search IMSLP.org.\u00a0 If you\u2019re a seasoned classical musician, you probably already know that a quick Google search of any piece that is in the public domain will yield a link to IMSLP somewhere on the first page.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pro Tip:<\/strong> You can also type site:imslp.org and the name of the piece into a Google search. For example, try Googling: site:imslp.org the Blue Danube\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what the landing page for most pieces looks like.\u00a0 For now, ignore the top toolbar, and scroll down.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Keep scrolling past the recordings (if there are any) until you get to a score.\u00a0 Pick a PDF that looks clear.\u00a0 Black specks and uneven ink can cause misreads in the program.<\/span><\/p>\n
