On the left is the original score, and on the right is the new digital score to correct.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My music was an imported picture.\u00a0 This is one of the more difficult import methods, due to the nature of images.\u00a0 The text in Lento was a little light, so it will need adjustment. Let\u2019s do it!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Editing with ScanScore<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To delete the text that is too far to the left, I use my mouse to select \u201858 Molto Legato\u2019. Then, simply hit backspace! Now, I can select the T (Text) button in the upper toolbar to click and add any of the missing text.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Need some more small fixes before you send your program to Finale? Everything you need is in the toolbar, including dynamics, articulations, clefs, time signatures, and much more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only other thing that needs to be edited is a few missed hairpin crescendos and decrescendos. But where can we find them? On the intuitive toolbar of course! ScanScore will highlight areas that it identifies as in need of correction with blue and purple lines. Once you\u2019ve found a part that needs to be corrected, you can zoom in to make it easier to see. One of ScanScore\u2019s useful features is that when you zoom in on either the original or the new score, the other side will automatically zoom in at the same time. This provides you with an easy-to-use side-by-side view.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Pro-tip: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the corrections are made, you can do a final check! You can have ScanScore play the score back to you using our PDF music player. The playback buttons can be found in the toolbar!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>#4 Export the Music to XML File Type<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you\u2019re happy your new version is correct, you need to export it into the MusicXML file. This is the file type read by most notation editing software, including Finale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To do this, simply go to the menu on the left-hand side and select the export to XML option.
